U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading on Tuesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.45 percent to 106.024 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro declined to 1.0612 U.S. dollars from 1.0651 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to 1.2736 dollars from 1.2862 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 154.75 Japanese yen, higher than 153.77 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar advanced to 0.8824 Swiss francs from 0.8809 Swiss francs, and it added to 1.3946 Canadian dollars from 1.3926 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar climbed to 10.9065 Swedish Kronor from 10.8486 Swedish Kronor.
