U.S. dollar trades flat


NEW YORK, May 20 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar roughly traded flat in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.0 percent to 104.445 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.0865 U.S. dollars from 1.0876 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.2711 U.S. dollars from 1.2709 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 156.27 Japanese yen, higher than 155.68 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar increased to 0.9099 Swiss francs from 0.9082 Swiss francs, and it advanced to 1.3621 Canadian dollars from 1.3609 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar decreased to 10.6914 Swedish Kronor from 10.7070 Swedish Kronor.
