LUANDA, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Angola's diamond export increased by 12 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year, a senior official said Friday.

In 2023, Angola's total diamond exports were 9.91 million carats, an increase of almost 12 percent compared to 2022, with total export revenue of 1.56 billion U.S. dollars, a reduction of about 20 percent compared to 2022, said Janio Victor, Angola's secretary of state for mineral resources in Luanda, the country's capital.

The Catoca Mining Company contributed the most to total production, accounting for about 71 percent of the total, he said.
