NEW YORK, June 1 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar suffered substantial losses on Thursday as disappointing economic data in the United States reinforced the case for the Federal Reserve to hold rates steady at its meeting this month.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, fell 0.74 percent to 103.5585 in late trading.
