JERUSALEM/GAZA -- Israel launched an airstrike on the Palestinian enclave of Gaza Strip late Thursday night, in response to earlier rocket attacks launched from Lebanon.

BEIRUT -- Lebanon rejects any military escalation from its lands and the use of Lebanese territories to carry out operations that may jeopardize the country's stability, said Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Thursday.

TEHRAN -- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Thursday called for convening an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to make a joint decision on defending the "oppressed" Palestinian nation against Israeli "crimes."

JERUSALEM -- A barrage of 30 rockets was launched from Lebanon at northern Israel on Thursday, local media reported, in a major escalation triggered by two consecutive days of Israeli raids at East Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israel's state-owned Kan TV news reported that at least 30 rockets were fired at the Galilee region in northern Israel. Five of them hit roads and buildings and the rest were intercepted by Israel's aerial defense systems. (Israel-Lebanon-Rockets)
