U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell sharply in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 1.15 percent to 104.7300 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).
