U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar moved lower in late trading on Tuesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, dipped 0.04 percent to 106.5000 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
