Dow closes down over 600 points

NEW YORK, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended sharply lower on Tuesday.

The Dow tumbled 632.42 points, or 2.25 percent, to 27,500.89. The S&P 500 decreased 95.12 points, or 2.78 percent, to 3,331.84. The Nasdaq shed 465.44 points, or 4.11 percent, to 10,847.69.
