That said, did such a brawl take place that warrants police investigation?

Police are investigating a viral video depicting a brawl among several people, believed to be locals, on Jalan Rawang-Batu Arang near Rawang.

Gombak OCPD Senior Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said police detected the video on Instagram at about 6pm on Saturday (May 16) and the Gombak district police headquarters lodged a police report at 4.24pm on Sunday (May 17) for further action.

"Preliminary investigations found that the incident occurred at Jalan Rawang-Batu Arang heading towards the Rawang Toll, before the entry slip road to the North-South Expressway (PLUS)," said Noor Ariffin.

"The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting in a public place," he said.

Noor Ariffin said that if convicted, the offenders could face imprisonment of up to two years, a fine or both.
