MARRIAGE is the happy union of two people deeply in love.
However, "living happily ever after" isn’t as easy as it seems – it doesn’t take into account one important factor – family.
That said, is it true that a family dispute bubbled over and led to a physical altercation on a public road in Klang, as claimed in a viral post on social media?
Verdict:
TRUE
In a Facebook post on Friday (March 21) the South Klang police station said they received a police report from a 24-year-old man, stating that his uncle was beaten up on Jalan Persian Raja Muda, Klang.
In the course of its investigation, police discovered that the incident occurred at around 9.30pm on Feb 7, 2025, involving a 37-year-old man who was beaten up by his brother-in-law and two accomplices.
"The cause of the fight was a family issue.
"The victim suffered injuries to his head and hands and had to receive treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang," read the statement signed by Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong, the South Klang police chief.
He said an investigation had been initiated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons.
The suspect, 41, who has a criminal record of six previous offences, was arrested on Feb 12.
He was subsequently charged on Feb 17.
"The police are aware of CCTV footage of the fight which has gone viral on social media.
"The public is advised not to spread the video to avoid public unrest," read the statement.
Police added that they are seeking the two other people still at large who were involved in the fight.
