QuickCheck: Did a popular fast-food chain create bubblegum flavoured broccoli?

Many children refuse to eat greens in their meals, an experience most of us can relate to.

Parents and educators have tried various methods to entice them to eat healthier.

It was said that a popular fast-food restaurant used an unusual method to make vegetables more palatable to children. Their out-of-the-box idea was to create broccoli that tasted like bubblegum.

Did this happen?

Verdict:

TRUE

It sounds whimsical, but in 2014, McDonald’s attempted to tempt children with bubblegum-flavoured broccoli.

However, the venture failed. The vegetable creation did not surprise or delight its intended audience during its testing phase.

The idea was then scrapped even before it reached customers.
