MOTORCYCLE thefts are becoming a common problem, with motorbike owners increasingly facing the threat of having their precious vehicles stolen in public places on any given day.

Recently, a video went viral after it revealed what is believed to be a motorcycle theft incident at the parking area of an apartment complex in Jalan Sungai Puyu, Sungai Dua, in Penang.

Is this true?

According to Seberang Perai Utara District Police Chief, ACP Anuar Abdul Rahman, the police have confirmed the incident and started an investigation.

"A police report was lodged on Nov 12 at 12:47am regarding the disappearance of a motorcycle parked in the flat’s parking area."

"The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code, and the police are tracking down the two suspects who are still at large,” said ACP Anuar.
