‘Sunnier’ Net after clampdown efforts

BEIJING: THE recent efforts by the Chinese government to clamp down on online rumours have resulted in a “sunnier” cyberspace, said the State Internet Information Office deputy director Ren Xianliang.

The official from China’s Internet regulator was commenting on the drop in activity on social media site Weibo during a press briefing here.
