IT WAS 9.30 on a Wednesday night and the hawkers at the Food Republic in Wisma Atria shopping mall were cooking up a storm.
Almost all the tables in the 900-seat food court were occupied, mostly by working adults aged between 20 and 40 who were wolfing down Hokkien mee, fishball noodles and chicken rice.
