YANGON: Cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever have doubled in Myanmar this year, prompting health officials to heighten their fight against the mosquito-borne viral disease, a local magazine reported yesterday.
“We have stepped up preventive and control measures as cases of dengue fever have surged in January and doubled in April and May compared with last year,” the Kumudra magazine reported, quoting senior health department official Dr Win Naing.
