BANGKOK: Prime Minister John Howard yesterday brushed off charges Australia needed to be more racially diverse before it is regarded as an Asian country, saying it was “ridiculous” for outsiders to dictate its immigration policy.
“Australia will always deport itself in this region and around the world not according to any derivative status or any ethnic composition but purely as an independent nation,” Howard said here.
