NAKHON PATHOM (Thailand): Sri Lankan government and Tamil rebel negotiators dealt with contentious security issues yesterday as a new round of peace talks entered its second day.
The dispute is over the Sri Lankan army’s insistence that the rebels disarm before they close military camps in northern Sri Lanka and allow the resettlement of 10,000 displaced Tamil families. The rebels have refused to disarm immediately.
