Chu Mei-feng plans to publish nude photo book

TAIPEI: A former Taiwanese politician who was involved in a high-profile sex scandal last year has split from her Chinese boyfriend after she decided to publish a nude photo book, it was reported yesterday.

Chu Mei-feng, 37, had planned to marry a Chinese man named Xu Changsheng in Feb 15, or the Lantern Festival, the United Daily News said.

It said Xu issued a statement in China on Sunday saying he had to break from Chu as she plans to publish a nude photo collection in Singapore despite his objection.

Chu shot to notoriety in December 2001 when she was filmed by an estranged friend having sex with a married man.

The 40-minute video compact disc of the former Taipei city councillor's romp was given away free by a tabloid magazine, “Scoop”, and spread throughout Asia via the Internet and black markets.

Chu has cashed in on her notoriety by launching a singing career, performing to sell-out crowds in Singapore and Hong Kong. – AFP
