Taiwan begins war on garbage, bans plastic ware


TAIPEI: Taiwan planned to begin waging a new war against garbage today, partially banning disposable plastic bowls, bags and other utensils. 

The ban will apply to supermarkets, department stores, fast food chains, restaurants and convenience stores.
