MELAKA: Barisan Nasional’s election machinery must work with PAS without prejudice in view that their leadership has agreed to cooperate in the state polls, says Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.
The Melaka Barisan chairman said party workers must embrace the decision with an open mind and coordinate efforts on the ground with PAS.
“Work together with PAS. Since the decision has been made, I call on our entire election machinery to work together.
“This must be done without prejudice,” he said after launching Barisan’s election machinery for the Pantai Kundor constituency yesterday.
Also present were incumbent assemblyman Datuk Tuminah Kadi and state MCA chairman Datuk Lim Ban Hong.
Ab Rauf, who is caretaker Chief Minister, said the state polls would not only determine Melaka’s future but also serve as a crucial test ahead of the next general election.
“This is also a step towards GE16. God willing, if we succeed in Melaka, we will succeed in Putrajaya,” he said.
He added that a united effort by Barisan and PAS would be vital to winning back public confidence.
