KAPIT: Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), associations and community organisations have been reminded by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi (pic) to manage aid transparently.
Nanta, who is the Kapit MP, said accountability and integrity must be prioritised to ensure every allocation benefits the local community.
“This assistance goes beyond financial support. It also represents a shared trust and responsibility to further promote development and improve the well-being of the people in Kapit,” he said at the cheque presentation ceremony for contributions under the Kapit parliamentary constituency here yesterday.
At the event, 26 recipients from JKKK, associations, clubs, and community organisations in the constituency received a total of RM217,600, Bernama reported.
He stressed the importance of cooperation among committee members to ensure the responsible use of the assistance and to meet their organisations’ needs.
The assistance covers longhouse administration and management, community activities, welfare programmes, and basic community facilities.
“The funds will support JKKK and association activities, education and sports programmes, the purchase of administrative equipment, and the construction of facilities, including public toilets,” he said.
Nanta hoped the assistance would help them carry out their responsibilities more effectively for the well-being of the community.
