Motorcyclist killed in collision near Kuala Pilah


KUALA PILAH: A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed after two motorcycles collided at KM2 Jalan Melang-Kuala Pilah near here on Thursday (Oct 8) night.

Kuala Pilah OCPD Supt Muhamad Mustafah Hussin said the incident occurred at 9.40pm when the victim was believed to have veered into the path of an oncoming motorcyclist.

"Preliminary investigations revealed that the other rider was travelling from Seremban towards Hospital Kuala Pilah.

"The victim, who was coming from the opposite direction, suddenly entered the path of the oncoming motorcyclist, resulting in a collision," he said in a statement on Friday (Oct 9).

Supt Mustafah said the victim sustained severe head injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
