Thunderstorm, heavy rain warning for three FTs, 10 states until 7pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Labuan, and 10 states until 7pm Thursday (Oct 1).

In a statement, MetMalaysia indicated that the adverse weather is expected to hit Kedah (Kuala Muda, Sik, and Baling), Perak (Hulu Perak, Selama, Kerian, Larut Matang, Kuala Kangsar, Hilir Perak, and Bagan Datuk), and Kelantan (Kuala Krai and Jeli).

Similar warnings were also issued for Terengganu (Kemaman, Dungun, and Hulu Terengganu), Pahang (Rompin, Maran, Temerloh, and Bera), and Selangor (Hulu Langat, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Sepang, and Kuala Langat).

In Negri Sembilan, the areas expected to be affected include Seremban and Port Dickson, while in Johor, they include Segamat, Tangkak, Muar, Kluang, Batu Pahat, Johor Bahru, Kulai, and Pontian.

Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the affected areas include Mukah (Matu, Dalat, Mukah, and Daro), Sibu (Selangau and Sibu), Kapit (Kapit, Bukit Mabong, and Song), Bintulu, Miri (Subis), Limbang, Sri Aman (Sri Aman, Pantu, and Lingga), Samarahan, Betong, Serian, and Kuching (Kuching).

As for Sabah, the areas involved are the Interior Division (Beaufort, Membakut, Sipitang, Tambunan, Keningau, Tenom, and Kuala Penyu) and the West Coast Division (Papar, Penampang, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Putatan, and Kota Belud). - Bernama
