FOUR friends ran afoul of the law while fulfilling their late friend’s wish after they were arrested for obstructing traffic in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, while dressed as characters from the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, Sin Chew Daily reported.
The four had dressed as the main characters from the novel as part of a funeral procession for their friend.
Their antics were caught on video, with one of them, dressed as the monk Tang Sanzang, seen riding a white horse in the middle of a dual carriageway.
He was accompanied by the other three, who were dressed as the Monkey King, Sun Wukong; the Marshal of the Heavenly Canopy, Zhu Bajie; and the river ogre, Sha Wujing.
Netizens initially thought the stunt was a gimmick to attract online views but later learnt that police had arrested the four for obstructing traffic.
