SEPANG: A Bangladeshi man was sent to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation after causing a public disturbance at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2.
KLIA OCPD Asst Comm Ravi Munusamy said the incident occurred on Sept 17 at around 4.40pm.
“The suspect began shouting loudly and disturbing other passengers. Airport security personnel responded swiftly to the scene and brought him to the Terminal 1 police station,” ACP Ravi said.
Investigations revealed that the 26-year-old suspect was scheduled to board a flight back to Bangladesh at 10.20pm that evening. However, while at the police station, he was unable to regain composure and continued to act aggressively.
“He was subsequently transported to the psychiatric ward at Kajang Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. The relevant embassy has been notified of the matter,” he added.
