BATU GAJAH: Police will call up two suspects to record their statements over a road rage incident in which a man was allegedly threatened with a stick on Jalan Ipoh-Gopeng in Simpang Pulai.
Perak deputy police chief Deputy Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari said the incident was believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding on the road.
"We believe we can identify the parties involved based on the dashcam footage. Both are believed to be locals.
"It is only a matter of time before we summon them to record their statements," he told reporters after attending a town hall session at Dewan Bandaran Kinta here on Saturday (Sept 19).
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
The incident, which went viral on social media, occurred at 4.56pm on Wednesday (Sept 16).
The victim claimed his vehicle was forced to the roadside by another car after he honked at it, resulting in a confrontation.
One of the two men in the other vehicle allegedly brought out a stick and pointed it at the victim's brother.
