PETALING JAYA: Haze conditions showed little improvement, with 32 Air Pollutant Index Management System stations recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings.
Of these, 25 recorded API readings above 150 as of 6pm yesterday.
Perak was the worst-affected state, with Tasek Ipoh recording the country’s highest API reading at 188, followed by Seri Manjung (178), Pegoh Ipoh (157), Taiping (154) and Tanjung Malim (104).
Unhealthy API readings were also recorded in Putrajaya (159) and several areas in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Johor, Penang, Pahang, Kedah and Terengganu.
In Selangor, the readings were Johan Setia (165), Shah Alam (158), Banting (156), Petaling Jaya (152) and Klang (151), while Cheras recorded 156 and Batu Muda 149 in Kuala Lumpur.
Negri Sembilan recorded unhealthy readings in Nilai (160), Seremban (156) and Port Dickson (122), while Melaka recorded 155 in Bukit Rambai, 154 in Alor Gajah and 152 in Bandaraya Melaka.
In Johor, unhealthy readings were recorded in Batu Pahat (155), Segamat (153), Tangkak (151) and Kluang (114), while Penang recorded 152 in Minden, 145 in Seberang Jaya and 142 in Seberang Perai.
Other affected areas included Jerantut (153) in Pahang, Sungai Petani (155) in Kedah and Kuala Terengganu (146) in Terengganu.
In Sarawak, the southwest region continued to experience haze, with Kuching and IPD Serian both recording 173, while Samarahan recorded 168.
Meanwhile, 33 other stations recorded moderate API readings of between 51 and 100, while three stations in Sabah and Sarawak recorded good readings of 50 and below.
