Cops record 12 statements over RM2.9mil armed robbery case


KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded the statements of 12 witnesses over an armed gang robbery case at a luxury condominium in Jalan Ampang here, involving losses of RM2.91mil.

Wangsa Maju OCPD Awsstg Comm Annas Sulaiman said they are identifying all suspects involved, adding they would also investigate the possibility of 'insiders' involved, given that the condominium has strict security controls.

He said that the complainant was in the residence with eight others when they were robbed.

It was reported that police are actively tracking down a group of masked men armed with knives who broke into a residential unit at Pavilion Embassy between 2pm and 3pm on Sept 7.

The suspects made off with cash, jewellery and luxury watches worth an estimated RM2.91mil, damaged a mobile phone and stole a 28-year-old Chinese national's passport.

The case is being investigated under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and armed robbery.
