KOTA KINABALU: Yayasan Sabah education loan borrowers are once again being offered rebates and the chance to obtain credit or CTOS amnesty under the Budi Madani 2026 rebate programme, which runs until Sept 27.
Yayasan Sabah said in a statement that, as with previous rebate programmes, the initiative was aimed at encouraging borrowers to settle their loans and fostering a positive repayment culture.
It said the offer was being introduced again following the strong response to a similar programme in August.
Three rebate categories are available: a 30% rebate for active borrowers who wish to fully settle their remaining loans, a 25% rebate for inactive borrowers who want to settle their loans in full, and a 20% rebate for those who opt to repay their loans by instalments.
Foundation director Datuk Seri Dr Gulamhaidar Khan Bahadar said the substantial rebates were also a form of appreciation for borrowers who had been consistent and disciplined in making repayments.
He said the credit amnesty was aimed at easing the burden on borrowers who would otherwise have to make substantial repayments before their names could be removed from CTOS records.
To make it easier for borrowers to understand the programme and seek clarification, Yayasan Sabah will also hold outreach programmes in several districts.
The dates and locations will be announced from time to time on Yayasan Sabah's social media pages under Kumpulan Yayasan Sabah.
