KUCHING: Raw water supply remains sufficient despite declining reservoir levels at the Bengoh Dam, says Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd.
The state water utility said there was enough water to support treatment plant operations, while water supply was continuing as normal.
"Sarawak Water will continue to monitor dam levels, weather conditions and supply requirements so that appropriate management measures can be implemented early if the situation changes," it said in a statement on Thursday (Sept 3).
Sarawak Water reminded the public to use water prudently and to stay informed via its official channels.
"We will provide updates if there are any developments requiring public attention.
"For now, the situation is under control and there is sufficient raw water supply for treatment plant operations," it added.
Located about 45km from here, the Bengoh Dam was built to secure long-term water supply for greater Kuching.
Its reservoir has a storage capacity of about 144 million cubic metres of water.
