Teen motorcyclist killed after being trapped under car on NSE near Simpang Pulai


IPOH: An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he was trapped underneath a car following a crash along the North-South Expressway near Simpang Pulai on Monday (Aug 31) night.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the accident, which occurred at about 10.50pm, involved a car and the motorcycle.

He said personnel from the Gopeng Fire and Rescue Station were alerted to the incident and arrived at the scene at 11.46pm.

“The victim was trapped under the car and was extricated using specialised equipment.

“He was found unconscious and handed over to Health Ministry personnel at the scene, who confirmed that he had died,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 1).

The victim’s body was later handed over to the police for further action.
