PUTRAJAYA: The hum of tank engines and roar of jet planes left many attending the 2026 National Day celebration in awe as Malaysia's military might was put on full display.
Tanks and various other combat vehicles rolled through Dataran Putrajaya on Monday (Aug 31), as they were joined by Malaysian Armed Forces personnel who marched ahead of the vehicles.
The vehicles included jeeps, infantry fighting vehicle, and many other support vehicles, all fitted with the iconic green and brown camouflage colours of Malaysia's armed forces.
Alongside the vehicles were artillery pieces of various sizes that were towed by military trucks.
Even as the tanks rolled away from Dataran Putrajaya, the excitement in the crowd remained high as the unmistakable roar of jet planes filled the morning skies shortly after.
The airshow began with a stunning double jet plane performance as they zoomed past Dataran Putrajaya while dropping flares, leaving many in the crowd looking to the skies in amazement.
They were shortly followed by the distinct sound of military helicopters that flew parallel to the stands, giving many spectators a good long view of the state-of-the-art aircraft.
This was then accompanied by a stunning display of military coordination as various military aircraft of different types zoomed past overhead in perfect formation.
The performance was then capped off by the thunderous roar of a jet plane as it performed a slow roll while dropping flares.
