PUTRAJAYA: The sight of Malaysia's arsenal of various missiles, torpedoes, and ordnance drew gasps of amazement from the crowd at the 2026 National Day celebration.
From bombs just over the size of a tall adult to missiles the length of a large cargo trailer, the rare sight of Malaysia's most advanced weapons on full display left many speechless as they stared in awe.
This included the MK82 and MK83 aerial bombs which are typically dropped by aircraft from high altitudes. Each bomb weighs around 500kg and was placed on trailers during the National Day parade at Dataran Putrajaya on Monday (Aug 31).
The biggest missiles on display were the Exocet MM40, a surface-launched anti-ship cruise missile that was almost 6m long, measuring almost the entire length of the trailer carrying it.
Similarly massive was the submarine-launched anti-ship Exocet SM39 missile, measuring just as long as the MM40 while also being equally impressive on display.
Various other ordnance were also showcased during the parade, as the crowd watched on in excitement.
