PUTRAJAYA: A special finale by the National Culture and Arts Department rocked the crowd at the 2026 National Day celebration in Dataran Putrajaya on Monday (Aug 31).
Clad in batik hoodie uniforms, the performers stunned the crowd when they flooded onto Dataran Putrajaya with their heads covered by hoodies just after the airshow was over.
Their uniforms stood out because of the vast array of different colours and patterns in the design, with each seemingly highlighting a different cultural aspect of Malaysia.
The performers then began to remove their hoodies to reveal youths of various ages, who began dancing in unison to this year's national theme, Aku Berjanji, which began playing in the background.
As VIPs began to leave the venue, the performers combined with the human graphics participants to give a final performance featuring various songs that blended modern hit songs with traditional tunes to see off the crowd.
Using Jalur Gemilang-coloured pom-poms and umbrellas and shiny tambourines, the performers' synchronised joint performance encapsulated the spirit of Malaysia as the final performance of the morning came to a close.
