RM30mil set aside for two rural airports in Sarawak

KUCHING: The Federal Govern­ment has approved RM30mil to upgrade the Ba’kelalan and Long Banga STOLports (short take-off and landing airports) in rural Sarawak, with work targeted to begin this year.

Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah said RM15mil was allocated for each STOLport under the Airport Development Fund for terminal upgrades and runway extensions where possible.
