Father, two daughters killed in Immigration lorry crash identified


KUALA LUMPUR: The three family members killed in a collision involving an Immigration Department lorry at Jalan Sultan Ismail here have been identified.

They are Shaik Mohd Firdaus Shaikh Yahya, 53, and his two daughters, Siti Nor Sazlin, 25, and Siti Darwisyah Auni, 12.

Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the family is from Kampar, Perak.

"The lorry driver has been remanded for one day for investigations," he added.

The accident occurred at about 1am on Wednesday at the Jalan Sultan Ismail traffic light intersection, involving the family and an Immigration Department lorry.

After post-mortem examinations on the victims are carried out at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, they will be taken to Masjid Jamiul Ehsan in Jalan Pahang here for funeral prayers.

The bodies of the three victims will then be taken back to the Kampung Air Hitam Labu Muslim Cemetery in Kampar for burial.
