KUALA LUMPUR: The airspace within the Kuala Lumpur Terminal Control Area will be temporarily closed to facilitate National Day Flypast 2026 rehearsal and event from Aug 26 to 31, says the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
"During the closure periods, scheduled aeroplane take-offs and landings at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) will be temporarily suspended to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the rehearsals and flypast.
"Members of the public may notice increased aircraft activity during the closure," it said in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 12).
It said that KLIA take-offs and landings will be suspended from 11.00am to 12.00pm on Aug 26 to 28 for rehearsals, and from 8.45am to 9.45am on Aug 29 and 31 for full rehearsals and the official flypast.
CAAM advised passengers travelling through KLIA during these times to confirm flight schedules directly with their airlines, as movements may be rescheduled.
The authority strictly prohibited unauthorised drones in affected areas, with the warning that violations pose low-altitude safety risks and face enforcement under the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016.
