JASIN: Police have arrested two men believed to be involved in an armed robbery at a KK Mart convenience store in Taman Maju here on Aug 6.
Jasin district police chief Supt Lee Robert said the two suspects, aged 44 and 45, were arrested separately at about 4.30pm on Monday (Aug 10).
He said the first suspect was arrested by the roadside along Jalan PPJ 3 in Jasin town, while the second was arrested in Sagil, Tangkak, Johor.
"The first suspect admitted to riding a motorcycle and waiting outside the premises, while the second suspect entered the KK Mart to commit the robbery," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 11).
Police also seized several items believed to be linked to the case, including three mobile phones, clothing and shoes believed to have been worn by the suspects, two helmets, a paper cutter knife and a KTM Duke 200 motorcycle.
He said the first suspect had 22 previous criminal records, while the second, who is under the supervision of the Tangkak District Police Headquarters, had 30 previous records.
The case is being investigated under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery with the use of a weapon.
Both suspects will be brought before the Jasin Magistrate's Court today for a remand application. – Bernama
