PAS and Parti Wawasan Negara reps set to join new Negri exco


SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan PAS commissioner Mohd Fairuz Isa is set to become the first assemblyman from the party to be appointed to the state executive council.

The two-term Serting assemblyman is expected to be sworn in before state Ruler Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir at Istana Besar Seri Menanti in Kuala Pilah on Friday (Aug 7).

In the Aug 1 state election, Mohd Fairuz won the seat with a 12,115 vote majority in a three-cornered fight.

Parti Wawasan Negara's Datuk Razali Abu Samah is also likely to become the first from the party to be appointed to the state exco.

The former Melaka police deputy chief who won the Sikamat seat under the Perikatan Nasional ticket, emerged victorious with a 4,413 vote majority in a three-cornered fight.

The other eight exco members are expected to be from Barisan Nasional.

Labu first-term assemblyman Siti Nurumaira Hasim from is expected to be the only woman in the 10-member exco.

According to sources, Mentri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim will likely retain two Barisan assemblymen from the previous state exco line-up.

They are Datuk Mustapha Nagoor (Palong) and Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli (Linggi).

The other exco members from Barisan expected in the line up are Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris (Chembong), Datuk Mohd Asna Amin (Lenggeng), Suhaimizamln Bizar (Gemencheh), Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali (Sg Lui) and John Siow Kong Choon (Chennah).

In the Aug 1 state polls, Barisan won 18 of the 36 seats contested.

Pakatan Harapan won 11 while Perikatan Nasional bagged the remaining seven.
