IPOH: A lorry driver has been charged at the Sessions Court here with 21 counts of sexually assaulting his two teenage daughters, aged 13 and 16.
The 41-year-old claimed trial after the charges under Sections 14(a), 14(b) and 14(d) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 were read out before Sessions Court Judge Jean Sharmila Jesudason on Thursday (Aug 6).
The accused is said to have committed the offences at a house in Iskandar Perdana, Seri Iskandar from April to July 2026.
Deputy public prosecutor Monisha Pandey requested for no bail to be offered and if bail granted, subject to conditions.
The accused, who was unrepresented, appealed for a low bail, saying that he earns RM2,500 a month and supports three children, his 63-year-old mother and his wife.
He said if granted bail, he would stay at his mother's house in Teluk Intan and not approach or disturb the victims.
Judge Jean Sharmila granted bail at RM15,750 with one surety for all 21 charges.
The court also ordered that the guarantor must be a local resident and not a family member of the accused, report to the nearest police station once a month and is prohibited from contacting or disturbing his two daughters, their family members or any prosecution witnesses.
The court warned that bail would be revoked in any breach of these conditions.
The case has been fixed for mention on Sept 14 for the submission of documents and the appointment of counsel.
