PETALING JAYA: A bush fire scorched about 0.2ha of land in front of a secondary school in Seksyen 16, Shah Alam, on Wednesday (April 29).
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 3.20pm before dispatching a fire engine from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station.
"The fire engine left the station at 3.21pm and arrived at the scene three minutes later, about 3km away.
"Upon arrival, firefighters conducted a size-up and confirmed that the blaze involved bushland covering approximately 0.2ha," he said in a statement on Thursday (August 6).
Ashrul Riezal said firefighters brought the fire under control using a hose reel supplied by the fire engine's water tank, following the department's RECEO firefighting concept.
"The fire was successfully extinguished, and the operation concluded without any reported injuries," he said.
A total of six firefighters, comprising one PBK I officer, one PBK II officer and four firefighters, were involved in the operation.
