IPOH: Tragedy struck a quiet neighbourhood in Bandar Baru Tambun after a 46-year-old woman and her two daughters were found dead in their home.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Najib Hamzah said police received a report at about 9.10pm on Thursday about three unconscious individuals at the house.
Investigators found the woman and her daughters, aged 12 and 11, dead inside a room.
“Police also found a container believed to contain the remains of burnt charcoal in the room.
“Preliminary examinations by the police forensic team and a forensic medical specialist found no signs of injury or foul play on the bodies.
“The case has been classified as a sudden death report,” he said in a statement yesterday.
ACP Muhammad Najib said investigations were ongoing to determine the cause of the incident, while post-mortem examinations would assist the probe.
He also urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information.
A visit to the house yesterday found the front gate and main door locked, with no one in sight.
A car remained parked in the porch.
A 60-year-old neighbour, who declined to be named, said the woman and her daughters rarely ventured out.
She recalled inviting the family to her child’s wedding about 10 years ago after moving into the neighbourhood, and they all attended.
