IPOH: A post-mortem has confirmed that a 46-year-old woman and her two daughters, who were found dead in their home in Bandar Baru Tambun here on Thursday, likely died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Najib Hamzah said post-mortem examinations conducted at the Forensic Department of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun found the cause of death for all three victims to be “probable carbon monoxide toxicity”.
“The police investigation is still ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident and to complete the investigation from all aspects.
“As such, the case remains classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR) pending the results of scientific analyses and other related reports,” he said in a statement on Friday (July 31).
ACP Najib urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information regarding the case, while calling on them to respect the family’s privacy and remain sensitive to their loss.
The victims were found dead in a room inside their house on Thursday night.
