SEREMBAN: Perikatan Nasional has unveiled a 14-point manifesto for the Negri Sembilan election, saying its pledges will complement those announced by its electoral partner Barisan Nasional.
The policy document, themed “United to Make Negri Sembilan Great”, was launched by Perikatan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar at the state PAS headquarters.
He said the additional pledges were designed to complement Barisan’s manifesto under their electoral cooperation for the Aug 1 polls.
The manifesto was built around six key thrusts – administration, youth and family, economy, welfare, education and employment.
Under administration, Perikatan pledged to develop a digital dashboard to monitor the implementation of its manifesto, and further improve the management of mosques statewide.
For youth and families, the coalition promised to introduce Youth Transit Homes for graduates and newly married couples, while expanding the Mawaddah Family programme to promote stronger marriages and proactive conflict resolution.
“Under the economy thrust, Perikatan pledges to upgrade support infrastructure for the oil and gas industry.
“We will also formulate a Blue Economy development plan and introduce investment packages for the critical minerals, semiconductor, aerospace, electric vehicle, logistics and digital economy sectors,” said Ahmad Samsuri.
Its welfare proposals include the Prihatin Rakyat programme, which will provide cash assistance to low- and middle-income families with high financial commitments, as well as special financial aid for non-Muslim communities.
In education, Ahmad Samsuri said Perikatan would upgrade Kolej Yayasan Negri Sembilan into an institution focusing on technical and vocational education and training (TVET), applied education, industrial research and innovation, while integrating Tahfiz TVET programmes under the state TVET secretariat.
To boost employment, Perikatan pledged to establish the Negri Sembilan Talent Corporation to develop expertise in artificial intelligence, green technology, cybersecurity, the digital economy and advanced automation.
The coalition also plans to set up a Negri Sembilan Job Matching Centre to improve employment opportunities in the tourism and emerging industries.
“Every pledge has been made based on our financial capability. These are not mere promises,” he said, adding that Barisan and Perikatan had agreed to work together because both were committed to bringing change to the state.
