PORT DICKSON: An independent candidate has joined the fray in the battle for the Lukut seat, going up against opponents from Perikatan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan.

Teo Seng Lee, 60s, said he wanted to throw his hat in the ring to resolve issues faced by Lukut residents.

“I am confident and will try my best. The main objective is to solve outstanding issues. The people here are disgruntled and also requested that I contest,” he said when met outside the nomination centre here on Saturday (July 18).

Teo is in a three-cornered battle for the Lukut seat.

He is up against incumbent Choo Ken Hwa of Pakatan Harapan and Sathes Kumar Nilameham of Perikatan.

At the previous state polls in 2023, Choo won the seat with a 10,135 majority.
