Negri polls: Albert Tei not running against Loke for Chennah seat

SEREMBAN: Businessman Albert Tei has decided not to challenge Anthony Loke for the Chennah seat in the Aug 1 Negri Sembilan polls to make way for Barisan Nasional.

In a Facebook post on Monday (July 13), Tei said he would throw his support behind Barisan's candidate and accompany him on nomination day on Saturday (July 18).

"I will do my best to defeat Loke in Chennah and bring down Pakatan Harapan in Negri Sembilan.

"I will also help campaign for all Barisan candidates in the state," he said.

On July 3, Tei said he was in talks with the Perikatan Nasional leadership about contesting the Chennah seat, adding they were supportive of this.

Loke had said he was prepared to face any challenger in Chennah as it was their democratic right.
