Air crash drill at Denai Alam R&R on July 16, DASH users advised to cooperate

SHAH ALAM: A full-scale aircraft crash simulation exercise will take place at the Denai Alam Rest and Service Area (R&R) on the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) between 8am and 2pm on Thursday (July 16).

Malaysia Airports, in a statement on Monday (July 13), said the Ex Urban Falcon 2026 drill is a collaboration with Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) and the Information Department.

"This exercise is part of the National Air Disaster Preparedness Programme 2026, themed 'Integrasi Perkasa, Aspirasi Nusa', organised by Malaysia Airports in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma), the Selangor state government and Prolintas-DASH.

"The air disaster exercise is designed to assess and test preparedness, coordination and response capabilities in the event of an emergency.

"The programme also aims to assess the response capabilities of various security and emergency agencies involved," the statement said.

DASH users and the public are urged to cooperate during the exercise if they encounter emergency vehicles, smoke, aircraft replicas, sirens or simulated activities near the Denai Alam R&R area, as these are part of the drill.

The public is also advised to comply with instructions from on-site personnel to ensure the exercise runs smoothly. – Bernama
