State govt to review Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan by year-end, says MB

IPOH: The state government will carry out a mid-term review of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan by the end of this year.

Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the move was to ensure that the plan remained relevant and aligned with the state’s development goals towards 2030.

“We have to complete the mid-term review before next year as we normally hold the State Leadership Retreat annually.

“It has to be finalised before that,” he said at a press conference after presenting the fourth-year progress report of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan here on Monday (July 6).

When asked whether the plan might undergo changes, he said the outcome would depend on the findings of the review.

“There are some districts which have progressed much faster while others are still slow. Adjustments might have to be made accordingly,” he said.

Saarani said the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan is on the right track to ensure the state’s economic growth benefits the people.

"The plan continues to guide the state’s efforts to grow the economy, attract investments, create jobs and improve the people’s well-being," he added.

Saarani added that Perak’s economy grew by 5.7% in 2025, surpassing the national growth rate of 5.2%, making the state the country’s sixth-largest gross domestic product (GDP) contributing 5.3%.

He added that approved investments in the state had risen significantly from RM6.61bil in 2022 to RM15.76bil in 2025, reflecting growing investor confidence in Perak’s development direction.

"The confidence is driven by a clear development direction through the state's five strategic growth nodes, which formed the basis for the creation of job opportunities, strengthening the industrial chain and economic spillover to the districts in Perak.

“As such, the next phase of Perak Sejahtera 2030 will continue to focus on addressing the cost of living, food security, education, healthcare, housing, TVET, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities," he said.

He added that the state government wants to ensure that the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan to be more than just a planning document, but a living framework that is implemented and gives meaning to the people's lives.
