Thunderstorm, heavy rain warning in eight states until 6pm today


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in eight states, including Sabah and Sarawak, until 6pm. on Saturday (July 4).

In a statement on Saturday, MetMalaysia said the adverse weather is expected to hit Kedah (Kota Setar, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, and Sik), Perak (Manjung and Perak Tengah), and Kemaman in Terengganu.

Similar warnings were also issued for Kuantan in Pahang, Hulu Langat in Selangor, as well as Jelebu and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan.

In Sarawak, the areas expected to be affected are Sarikei (Sibu) and Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro), while in Sabah, the affected areas include the Interior Division (Keningau and Tambunan), the West Coast Division (Papar and Penampang), and Sandakan (Kinabatangan). - Bernama
