Hubby’s DIY childbirth ends tragically

A WOMAN in India died after her husband allegedly attempted to deliver their baby at home with the help of online tutorials, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The couple, identified only as Karthik and Sasikala from Tamil Nadu, welcomed their first child, a girl, four years ago.

When Sasikala became pregnant again, Karthik reportedly decided to oversee the pregnancy and childbirth at home instead of seeking medical care.

On June 24, Sasikala suffered severe bleeding during labour and was rushed to hospital, where she later died from complications.

Karthik was arrested and charged with concealing the pregnancy and conducting a home delivery without proper medical training.

It was not reported whether the baby survived.
